Being that the use of characters in website design is a popular trend, I am surprised that there aren’t more character designs on Graphic River. I think that a good collection of creative and well illustrated characters could do very well on this site. To get your creative chracter juices flowin, I am sharing with you this post from Smashing Apps:

Jacob Cass of Just Creative Design recently wrote an article for Layers magazine about what sort of finishing touches can really give your design a polished look. All of the thing suggestions he points out are simple enough, but can have a major impact on the finished product. I think a lot of these tips could help spice up your Graphic River submissions as well.

Being that web design graphics do pretty well here on Graphic River I thought I would share this collection of creative pagination examples. I haven’t seen any files on Graphic River that were strictly a variety of paginations and I think those might go over well. I know I’m always looking for better and more creative ways to show off that sort of thing. If you end up creating something for Graphic River, post a link to it here in the comments section!

All of you regular readers out there know how much I love comic books and comic art. So, it is no wonder that I think this collection of Joker inspired artwork is wicked cool. I’m always impressed to see fan art and this is a great collection of it.

I have always been a fan of black and white photos. I have always been a fan of females. So, by default I am a fan of black and white pictures of females. There is a post on Tutorial 9 that showcases an amazing amount of black white portraits of females. Check it out:

Until I bought my 24inch iMac I was all about having multiple monitors. In my opinion it is a must if you work on a PC. Macs are a bit easier to use with a single monitor because of how they operate, but its still nice to have that extra screen real estate. If you want to know a little bit more about running multiple monitors, some multi screen resources, or just want to see some pictures of multi screen setups; check out this post on Web Design Depot.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Working with Multiple Screens

Icon sets seem to be pretty popular here on Graphic River, so I thought I would share this excellent round up on icon tutorials that I found. Chris Spoon is an awesome Illustrator guru and he has posted a huge round up of 40 tutorial for creating highly detailed icon designs.
Paulo over at Abduzeedo created a nice roundup of zombie photos, artwork, and illustrations. Aside from comics, one of my second favorite things is zombies and this round up has a nice collection of zombie inspired stuff. Not sure its relevant for graphic design or web design, but its still pretty cool!
Awesome Zombie Collection
There has been some interesting discussions going on over at a few popular design blogs about what creativity really is. The discussion started over at Janko at Warped Speed and has sine spread over to Fuel Your Creativity. I suggest checking out both posts to hear what ever one has to say.
