5 Books Every Designer Should Own

I buy massive amounts of Books off Amazon at a time. I enjoy a good business or marketing book and Amazon has so many of them for so cheap. I’m sure I have a stack of books somewhere that I ordered and still have yet to get around to reading. The books on this list however, are not books that should ever make it to that pile. The list of books below are some of the best and most helpful books that any new or experienced designer could own. Under the Radar: Banner Style Website Navigation

101468

Today I wanted to showcase a graphic element file from the marketplace called Banner Style Navigation. While the file has only been on the marketplace since the start of April, I am surprised it hasn’t sold more copies. This type of design is pretty trendy at the moment and it makes me wonder why more people haven’t downloaded this file.

Basecamp iPhone Apps

I don’t know about you, but I would never be able to manage my team and everything I have going on without Basecamp. I have tried a number of team collaboration apps, but always come back to Basecamp. But this post isn’t a praise of Basecamp. This post is to showcase the iPhone apps that work seamlessly with Basecamp. There aren’t too many out there, but the ones that are out there are pretty sweet.

Concept Share Review

Concept Share is a proofing app similar to Proof HQ. I have been using it since was released from beta and have become pretty fond of it. Chevereto: Free Image Hosting Script

Image hosting websites like Flickr and Picasa are great, but sometimes you want something a little more private. There are plenty of free and fee based image hosting scripts out there, but many of them seem to be more complex than they need to be. This is especially true if you are uploading these types of scripts for a client!

Book Review: Web Design for ROI

I’m in the process of creating what will be a highly priced learning environment for teaching freelancers how to work from anywhere in the world. Because the site will have a pretty hefty price tag for admission, I felt it was important to make sure the sites design did everything it could to promote the product wisely. This means that I needed to pay special attention to the usability of the site. While usability is key in any good design, it is especially important when your design is trying to sell something.
