I’d like to announce that the River Current will be taking a “holiday hiatus” over this holiday season. We will be back up and running sometime in 2010. The change is sure to bring some exciting this to the marketplace blogs. All the old content on the blogs will stil be available in some form or fashion. In the meantime, the current blog will stay up. You will also be able to check back here for site announcements and news until the new blogs launch.
On a more personal note, I’d like thank everyone for taking the time to hear what I had to say. I hope that some of my ideas about the marketplace and tips on selling files have helped both GrapahicRiver authors as well as authors on the other marketplaces. It has been a pleasure writing for you guys and working with the ever inspiring Envato Network.

The last 9 months we’ve been working hard on the financial parts of our system. During this time we’ve been building a better, more bulletproof accounting system into the app. It’s the kind of super important work that for the most part nobody notices, but ensures everything is working as it should. Just a few days ago, Envato’s very own WordPress ninja, Derek Herman, released a new “Envato Marketplace Items” plugin for WordPress. Now, with only a few minutes worth of work, you can display your recent files, popular files, and even files according to a specific category on your site. Not only that, but you can additionally attach your referral id to each item and earn 30% of your referred user’s first deposit!
In only a few steps, I’ll show you exactly how to implement this plugin into your own project.

As you all know, the Envato marketplaces are going through an extensive redesign which we’ll be launching by the end of this month.
Besides giving the sites a bit of a facelift, we’ve done our best to take on board as much of your feedback as possible, and added many new features in order to make the marketplaces even better! 
I wanted to give everyone a ‘sneak peek’ of what you can expect, so here’s a couple of screenshots based on our new and improved Forums.
We hope you like them, and we wanted to say a special ‘thank you’ to everyone who’s supported us and given us great feedback over the years!
We’re all working hard to add the finishing touches, but you can expect the grand unveiling by the end of the month. Stay tuned!
When we set out a couple of months ago planning a way to say thank you to all our buyers here on the Envato marketplaces, there was one really stand out idea. It was put forward by our very savvy AudioJungle site manager ScottWills who suggested a fantastic bundle deal. It was a cool idea, but I don’t think anyone here at Envato HQ every expected it to be such a runaway success!
The most immediate consequence is we will definitely be running Birthday Bundles every year in August from now on. So if you enjoyed this bundle there will be more to come next year!

It was back in 2006 that Envato first launched with our very first site FlashDen. That means next week we’ll be turning 3 years old! Since web years are much like dog years, by my count that makes us pretty darn old. Given how we’ve grown, we’ve decided that this year it’s time we really kicked our celebrations up a notch. Next week for 3 days we’re going to have a massive sequence of birthday events, read on to find out what’s happening …

Alright guys, GraphicRiver has been active for quite a while now. I think it is time to start showcasing designs that feature files the are for sale here on GraphicRiver. If you have used any GraphicRiver files in your web or print designs, please send me a link in the comment section of this post. Once I get enough submissions, I will do a showcase roundup here on GraphicRiver.
