How to Write a Good File Description

Designers aren’t sales people. If they were, we probably wouldn’t have the famous “feast or famine” quote associated to how we make money. If a designer worked on their sales technique as much as they work on improving their design skills, one could probably double their own income. If that is the case, why do we write sub par sales letters, put off calling potential clients, and do a poor job with our website copy?

GraphicRiver Affiliate Links and Banners

Here is a short screencast on where you can find your affiliate links and banners for all of the Envato Marketplaces. This of course includes GraphicRiver, ThemeForest, FlashDen, AudioJungle, and VideoHive.

You can use these affiliate links and banners to either promote your own work on the marketplace or to earn affiliate commissions by recommending others to purchase off the marketplace websites. The area of the marketplace websites that house the links and banners also give you access to high quality versions of the sites logos. This way you can use the logos to customize the way you show off your affiliation to the Envato Marketplaces.

How to Use Twitter to Promote Your Stock Files

I have recently been using Twitter to find work for my Wordpress Designers website. Dedicated Design Templates Category AND Announcing Graphic Design Week!

Since GraphicRiver hit the web a couple of months ago there’s been one real stand out category that the team here never really planned – Business Cards. We’re now approaching almost 300 business card templates on the site and we’ve decided it’s time to get serious about the niche.

So a few days ago we quietly moved our two (vector and graphics) design templates categories and merged them into a single top level Design Templates section. The new category also has a neat little feature that we will hopefully roll out across the marketplaces, namely it displays in icons what file types are included in the sidebar. This is particularly handy when a file can be Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or even Quark!

Because we’re so excited about the new Design Templates category really taking off, we’ve decided to run a very special double site promotion on Tuts+ to help kickstart the new section. All this week Psdtuts+ and Vectortuts+ will be running Graphic Design Week, putting up a killer line up of tutorials and articles by professionals in the industry on typography, identity design, brochure design, printing, and many more topics.

So head over and celebrate Graphic Design Week and help us make GraphicRiver the best place on the web to grab awesome Design Templates!
