I have been noticing the “pixel effect” in a lot of design work here lately. People are using it in a variety of ways; from gigantic over sized pixelation, to mosaic style pixels, the style is popping up everywhere. GraphicRiver author Lovi has created a file that capitalizes on this trend, but with a bit of style. Rather than just create some multi color pixel backgrounds, Lovi has created background with a variety of pixel shapes and patterns.
If you are on the lookout for a pixel style background, this could be just what you need.

It has been a while since I did an Under the Radar post. So, I decided to browse way back in the archives to find some gems that might have been overlooked. During my search, I found this really cool file of “assorted stylized happy cartoon clouds.” With as popular as this cartoon and hand drawn style is, I am super surprised that this file has only sold a handful of times. Only nine times since February 2009. That is a shame.
This author has a wide style skill set. If this cartoon set doesn’t really do it for you, I still suggest you check out the authors profile. Every one of the authors files is completely different in style and all of them are pretty amazing.
File: Assorted Stylized Happy Cartoon Clouds
Author: Mashton
Overview:
An assortment of cloud characters with various happy facial expressions. Done with pastel colours these clouds would perfectly suit a cartoon type website, or childrens illustration, or fit well into a background. There is also a rainbow which can be moved around and the colours changed easily.
Each cloud is made from Vector Mask Layers, so there is no limit to how large you can scale these clouds. You can use them for web or print. Each element of each cloud is on a separate layer, so you can easily change colours and mix and match the facial expression of each cloud.
Enjoy!
Abduzeedo managed to uncover a cool artist on Deviant art who goes by the name of Poison Vectors. Well the style is a bit trendy, they manage to make it their own by adding in their own personality into the design.

Lets face it, after hours upon hours of working and staring at the same design, one can start to question the overall design. We have all been there before. Stared at the same design for so long we no longer know if its good or not. It’s like everything we know about design has left us and we stare at the screen dumbfounded.
It is times like these that a little personal assessment can help.
It is times like these a little C.R.A.P. can help.
