Under the Radar – Assorted Stylized Happy Cartoon Clouds

It has been a while since I did an Under the Radar post. So, I decided to browse way back in the archives to find some gems that might have been overlooked. During my search, I found this really cool file of “assorted stylized happy cartoon clouds.” With as popular as this cartoon and hand drawn style is, I am super surprised that this file has only sold a handful of times. Only nine times since February 2009. That is a shame.

This author has a wide style skill set. If this cartoon set doesn’t really do it for you, I still suggest you check out the authors profile. Every one of the authors files is completely different in style and all of them are pretty amazing.

File: Assorted Stylized Happy Cartoon Clouds
Author: Mashton
Overview:
An assortment of cloud characters with various happy facial expressions. Done with pastel colours these clouds would perfectly suit a cartoon type website, or childrens illustration, or fit well into a background. There is also a rainbow which can be moved around and the colours changed easily.

Each cloud is made from Vector Mask Layers, so there is no limit to how large you can scale these clouds. You can use them for web or print. Each element of each cloud is on a separate layer, so you can easily change colours and mix and match the facial expression of each cloud.

Enjoy!

Under the Radar – Transportation

I hadn’t planned on writing an Under the Radar post today, but then I came across this file titled Transportation by author Malchev. Perhaps it isn’t technically under the radar just yet, as it was only submitted a few days ago. But, if you ask me, its a crime that no one has bought this file yet. I don’t have a use for it, but I tempted to buy it just because its awesome.

Under the Radar – BrainBot Robot with Brain

WOW, I can not believe this GraphicRiver author hasn’t had more total sales. We are lucky to have such a talented illustrator and designer to be sending in files to GraphicRiver. I actually showcased this illustrator on a post I did on Outlaw Design Blog a year or two ago. He is an amazing character illustrator and equally talented vector artists.

Under the Radar: Sketch Creative Business Card

Granted I probably haven’t browsed the business card category of GraphicRiver as much as I should, I would like to think I would have noticed a business card template as cool as the “Sketch Creative” by author dvkro. If his work or name sounds familiar, that is because he was a featured author on the GraphicRiver marketplace a while back. After seeing all the files he has for sale, I can see why he was picked.

Under the Radar – Interactive PDF Portfolio

I never noticed this file get published, but thought is was very interesting idea and one that I thought would have been a little more popular. I think the idea of having a interactive PDF version of your portfolio is a great addition to your freelance marketing arsenal. Having this sort of high tech / non-traditional version of your portfolio could be nice to have to impress your higher end clients. This is an especially cool file to have if you have ever thought about using some of those miniature CD business cards.

Under the Radar – The MP-2 : The Mighty Presser

If you read Outlaw Design Blog, you may have noticed a post I did a while back about the web design trends of 2009. One of the popular trends was the letterpress look. GraphicRiver author has created a really nice Photoshop action to help you create this letterpress look with just the click of a button. The Photoshop action looks to be well put together and super simple to use. One thing that really makes this file stand out is the extra mile the author went to offer support for the file. Lichine created a screencast for the file to show those who might not be familiar with how Photoshop actions work, that clearly explains how to use the file.

Oddly enough, this file has only sold a few times. I am going to go out on a limb here and suggest that the poor sales number has to do with the poor image associated with the file. I think if Lichine created a better sales image with better examples, they would see a slight increase in sales.

Under the Radar – Cartoon/Comic-book effect Action

If you have followed along at any of the Photoshop tutorials I have written, you may have noticed that many of them have a retro feel to them. Im just a sucker for retro art. Anything from pop art to vintage photography. I just love that old style. There is just something about it. GraphicRiver author, PixeledArt has made it easier than ever to achieve the classic pop art style and comic book look with this awesome Photoshop action.

Under the Radar – Titanium Series – Green Environmental Icons

I am a sucker for icons. I love them. I kind of collect them like baseball cards. If I see a cool set of icons, I have to download. I might not have a project I need them for, but if they look cool, I have to have them. The icon collection here on GraphicRiver is growing steadily. One set of icons that really caught my eye when they first appeared was the Titanium Series – Green Environmental Icons.

Under the Radar: Triad Business Card Template

If you keep up with all the new stuff that gets posted on The GraphicRiver marketplace on a daily basis, you have probably noticed that there are a lot of business card templates. I’m constantly amazed by how many different and creative ways designers can come up with when it comes to business cards. While its great how many business card templates are on GraphicRiver, it is also a bit overwhelming.

Under the Radar: Pastel Color Web Buckets

In this day in age where many websites seem to be shiny duplicates of one another it is always a pleasant surprise when you come across one with a more muted color pallet. Who ever said that you had to have a bold and colorful website design to make it stand out? Seems like by doing the exact opposite would help you stand out even more these days.
