25 Bizarre and Amazing Works By Tara McPherson

Last weekend I went to a big comic/sci fi convention in Atlanta called Dragon Con. This convention has an entire are dedicated to pop and comic artists. I usually end up spending most of my money in this area of the convention. I am sucker for cool art. This year I was exposed to a new artist who I was really taken by, her name is Tara McPherson. Her style is surreal and dream like to say the least. It is so unique, that I wanted to share it with you. What do you think?

10 Creative Banner Templates

Maybe I’m lazy, or maybe I’m just not talented enough, but designing web banners is beyond me. I just can never seem to design anything that small and make it look good. Lucky for me, GraphicRiver has plenty of web banner templates in the marketplace. Here are 10 of my favorite web banner templates from the marketplace.

FYI: Many of these banner sets sell pretty well…

We have been getting a LOT of requests from buyers wanting a licence to use files in products for resale, so we’ve made one!

The licence is called the Single Use Conditional Resale Permitted Licence ["Conditional Resale"]. You can read about it here:

Right now every author is automatically opted-out, so you will need to opt in if you wish to sell your files under this licence. Read on for full instructions. (more…)

Ever since I started working with Graphic River I haven’t had a chance to keep up with what was going on over at all of the other market places. Inspiration: Show and Tell Website

I have been very much into landing page optimization here lately. I find it very interesting how the human brain and eye interact on these sorts of pages. As a result of learning so much about good landing pages, I am always on the lookout for sites that feature a good landing page design. I recently came across a good landing page design over at Show and Tell: Consignment Sale.

Inspiration: Element Fusion Interns Site

As part of my daily routine I was browsing the CSS galleries. I often find and bookmark inspiring sites that I don’t share here on Graphic River, but today is an exception. I wanted to share the intern recruitment page for a web design firm called Element Fusions. Aside from the obvious aesthetics, I was impressed by the creative one page layout. It isn’t often you find one page layouts that are creative and not over/under packed with information.

Tips for Better Links with CSS

I am a firm believer that the issue of creating a better user experience by creating links that are more senseable is something that is vastly under utilized on the web. For the most part, the only exposure people have to this is when we see double underlined links in blogs that are actually affiliate links. While this is a good use of making links more user friendly, this is only a fraction of what could be done.

Apparently Designer Daily agrees with me on this one.

Cool jQuery Script for Adding Captions

Having a background in a magazine layout, I think that all images should have a caption associated with them. I am guily of not doing this on my own blog, but for the simple reason that I haven’t found a stylish way to do so. Sure, you could always add a simple line of text under the picture, but that’s just not any fun.

What is fun, is the Captify script by Master Fidgiter.
