Design Podcast Suggestions
If you follow me on Twitter (@DannyOutlaw) you may have got some insider information on the fact that I am going to be the host of the new podcast for the Tuts+ Network. Right now the whole idea is still very much in the planning stages. I would assume we will try out a few episodes and see how it goes. To make sure it goes well, I wanted to talk to you guys and see what kind of stuff you wold like to hear about.
About the Podcast
The podcast will essentially have the option to cover any topic that is currently in the Tuts+ Network. If you aren’t familiar with what all that includes, let me just say it’s a lot and keeps growing. Basically it will allows us to talk about any graphic or design related medium and industry on the show. There will be myself as the host, a regular guest member, and spots for one to two guest members.
My Ideas for the Podcast
I am thinking that it might be nice to cross reference as many Tuts sites when possible. For example, maybe on one show we could talk about the web design work flow and cover the design aspect for PSD Tuts and the developing side for NET Tuts. Make sense? This doesn’t always half to be the case, but it would be nice to do when possible. To help get the ball rolling for ideas, I’ll share a few of mine;
- Usability Testing – How to create the best user experience.
- Web Design – Website design work flow from idea to client sign off.
- Vector Graphics – How to make money with vector graphics
Your Ideas for the Podcast
So, you have heard my ideas for show topics on the podcast; did they spark any ideas for you? If not, what kind of topics would you like to hear covered in the show? As I said before, the show can cover a wide range of topics, it’s really just up to what you want to hear about.
Aside from show topics, are there any specific guests you would like to hear from? Any designers, illustrators, or otherwise big names in the industry you would like to hear on the show?
Feel free to include any ideas or thoughts in the comment section below. I will keep you posted on the show and let you know when it launches.

Wow, a Tuts+Network podcast. A natural progression towards an already brilliant network of sites!
On top of the initial ideas, I’d think about showcasing or discussing maybe some inspirational work for listeners to check out…these could all be linked up in the show notes.
I suppose and user interaction is key and developing ways to get your listeners more involved will also help. Setting competitions discussing ‘what’s popular’ on the web or in design…
