Useful Adobe Air Apps for Designers

Ever since downloading Adobe Air to use TweetDeck, I have been on a regular hunt for other cool Adobe Air apps. The guys at Smashing Apps have created a pretty nice list of Adobe Air apps that are handpicked for designers and bloggers. The two I am most interested in are the image resizer tools.

Thanks for posting this Danny, it’s a great list of some really interesting and useful sounding Air apps. Like you I’m always on the hunt for more useful Air apps, although I can’t remember what I first installed Air for. I’d like to create some of my own Air apps when I get the time.

In response to your question, I’ve used Shrink-O-Matic. It’s easy enough to use, it’s feature set makes it just about perfect for resizing and converting images, you’d think. The one thing that lets it down is that it doesn’t do a very good job of optimizing the resulting image. In fact, it’s so bad in this department that it’s not really worth using in my opinion. If only it could optimize like Xnview, it would be one of the most used tools in my toolbox.
